Our Practice: Kindred Spirits Veterinary Clinic is a small animal clinic that predominantly sees cats and dogs. We aim to provide the best high quality veterinary care with respect and understanding of the bond that each owner has with their pet. Our hospital provides routine care and more advanced medicine and surgery. We also perform routine surgeries such as spays and neuters, alone with emergency surgeries such as foreign body removals and
splenectomies.
Our Facility: Our small animal clinic currently has 3 veterinarians and 5 licensed veterinary technicians on staff. We provide digital radiography, ultrasound, cold laser therapy, up to date laboratory procedures, dentistry, and a variety of surgical procedures including a special interest in ophthalmic surgery and medicine to our clients
Goal of Shadowing: Veterinary medicine is a rewarding profession. But it does require compassion and a lot of work. Not everyone is cut out for this profession. A small amount of time behind the scenes in a veterinary clinic when you are trying to make a decision about your career choice can make a big difference. Although we cannot place all students, we can provide some with an experience that will help make an informed decision.
Application for Shadowing: Please submit the following to Dr. Hanks: kindredvet@gmail.com
- Brief explanation of what you would like to accomplish in a shadowing experience
- Paragraph on what your future plans are
- What days and months you might be available to shadow
- Your school, grade and interests
Duration of Shadow: If accepted, we will schedule a time to follow one of our vets for a short time on a day that works for the clinic and the student
Responsibilities: On the day of your shadow, please wear long pants, closed toed shoes (no boots) and we will provide you with a scrub top. No visible tattoos are permitted and piercings must be limited to ear piercings with small holes. Plan to watch surgeries and diagnostic procedures.
